The fire was spreading quickly, and damn it, this was not the best fighting conditions, especially with an idiot who darted about with his sword like a monkey. Jin parried to the left as Mugen thrust his sword at him, narrowly avoiding the swift blade. He kept his face calm and schooled in his usual blank look, the only indication that he was anything but was the sweat that trickled down his forehead, though even that was probably caused by the fire.
Who exactly did this person think he was? Jin mused as they continued fighting through the flames, moving quickly and gracefully around the room in their deadly dance. He was fast, Jin would give him that… but he didn't necessarily watch where he was going. Jin stepped back as he heard the ceiling creak as the fire ate through it, glancing at the bushy haired man it appeared that he heard it as well.
Mugen tensed, digging his feet into the dirt of the burning room ready to strike at the stoic rounin across from him. Jin tensed slightly a well, tightening the grip on his sword and waiting for the other to make his move.
They say that things always happen in threes and this was no different. Criminal lunged at Samurai, Samurai parried Criminal and the roof came crashing down right behind them. They both stopped and stared at the spot where the both had just stood and then back at each other.
Mugen smirked and raised his sword once more, as Jin took a step back to have room to bring his sword up. Again the roof creaked, over the sound of the roaring flames, Jin looked up just in time to see the next beam come down and Jin jumped out of the way of it, just as Mugen swung his sword at the samurai.
The beam fell at landed on the criminal, knocking him out and knocking the Samurai into a vat of water. Jin pulled himself out of the water, his face even more of that blank look that showed he was actually annoyed. He looked at where the bushy haired thief lay under the beam and grimaced debating on just leaving him there. He wasn't a bad fighter, not that Jin would ever admit that out loud; his fighting style was much too erratic to ever be considered truly masterful.
The fire was spreading up the beam that lay over the other man, Jin sighed; he supposed that he couldn't' just leave the man there, it was a horrible way for a swordsman to die; no matter how incompetent he was. He kicked the beam off the other man and pulled him out quickly before the flames could eat up his clothes.
Jin grunted slightly at the man's dead weight and sighed exasperated; this was ridiculous. There were angry shouts from outside the building. Jin glanced out the window and frowned faintly, it was more of those imbeciles from the man he had fought earlier that day; they must have followed him there. Thinking quickly Jin, moved back over to the vat of water and pushed Mugen inside and then followed pulling a lid over the vat as he sunk into the water.
This was most un dignified... Jin, grumped as he sat there, though to most people his expression didn't change what so ever. Mugen on the other hand groaned slightly and sat up wobbling, his eye's not even open. Jin raised an eyebrow hoping to god that the man wouldn't say anything and blow their cover… he could hear the other men outside the door.
Mugen wobbled a little bit more and then seemed to steady himself. "I told you, no rubber duckies!" he shouted before collapsing back into the water.
...Idiot.
